Founded in 2012, the goal of Foundation Urban Gorillas is not to reach merely a professional audience with abstract and experimental theater, but rather to build an audience that (still) has no experience with, or in, contemporary theater. Not only as a spectator but as a participant. Through workshops accompanying the project, transparent processes and embedded aftertalks, the foundation lets many people get acquainted with theater in an accessible way. I am happy to be part of this ongoing experiment as a founding member of the board.
